This is one of the shots I took with the SLR, I used most the manual focus to get the focus in the front and the blurred background, this works very well as both the models stand out well. Even though it was a miserable and grey outside this picture still looks bright and a good quality picture.
This picture was also taken outside and with no flash, I decided to test a long shot as this is what I'll be using on the front of my music magazine, I think it works well as alot of the genre can be portrayed through the clothes my model is wearing and this will make my music magazine more recognisable to the audience.
This picture looks really good as I once again used the manual focus to focus on Sam (model) and to leave the background out of focus, I could use this when taking my music magazine to enhance the thing I'd like the audience to see.
The lighting on this picture looks very professional, it was taken indoors and I used the flash to get this clean and well-lit picture. This was better than the picture I took without the flash (See below)
This is the picture I took indoors without a flash, as you can see it's nowhere near as well-lit as the picture above and doesn't look as good.
On this picture the shutter speed changed to a very slow one, this made the image blurry and unfocused, the lighting wasn't very good either, this makes the image unusable and very bad quality.
The light and dark contrast in this picture makes the model look really clear and well-lit, I used the flash again in this image as it was indoors and the lighting wasn't too good. I think this picture looks good but could do with some editing if I used this in my music magazine.
Compared to the pictures I took for my college magazine these are a lot better, they're better quality, the lighting's better and not as much photoshop work would have to be done to them. Overall I'm very pleased with these pictures and can't wait to use the SLR's again when taking my music magazine pictures.
