Evaluation: Question 7 - Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

I believe my music magazine works a lot better than my college magazine which I produced at the start of this project. The font sizes, colour and positioning all work a lot better and work better as a professional magazine. Even though there are some similarities between the two covers the progression with photoshop and understanding how magazine covers are put together really shows with my music magazine cover.

This contents page has improved on my college magazine contents page dramatically. My college contents page looks bare and there's too much white space as the text and image are all misplaced and not the correct sizes. I could have used In Design when creating the text for this contents page, like I did on my college magazine contents page, however I felt more comfortable when using photoshop so that's what I used.

When looking back at this cover the progress I've made on photoshop is quite dramatic, even though I did have an understanding of how to use photoshop when creating this college cover it was only basic and I have learnt a lot of techniques and tools which have made making my music magazine cover and contents easier.

This is the weakest final page I've made and you can defiantly see the progression when looking at my music magazine contents. By doing market research and looking at professional contents pages my understanding at how to produce and lay one out is evident (when looking at my music magazine). I created this contents page by using In Design and my lack of knowledge of how to use it really shows with this contents page. I am pleased with my overall progression throughout this project.

 

Evaluation: Question 6 - what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constucting this product?

Blogger:To upload the different stages of my research and planning and to display my final magazine cover, contents and double page spread
Prezi: I used Prezi to display my progress in a different and more interesting way instead of just posting text and images of my blogger
Photoshop: I have used photoshop to make my music magazine, it's been the main software which I've used and I couldn't have completed my music magazine to the same standard if this software wasn't available to use
In-Design: I used InDesign at the start of the research and development to test out the way text can be manipulated on the page
iPhoto: This was used to import all of the pictures that I took with the SLR camera to use in my magazine
