Moderator,
this is my blog which I've been adding to throughout this coursework. The music magazine I've made is in the hip-hop/alternative genre.
Below you'll find my finished music magazine cover, contents page and double page spread as well as the evaluation questions, research and planning, college magazine and the tasks I had to do before creating this.
My blog will start with my finished college magazine, go on to the evaluation, then research and planning and finally my college magazine.

Research and Planning: New Magzine Front Cover
I decided to scrap my other magazine front cover as it looks too childish, this new, simpler design, once developed further, should give a much cleaner and professional feel to my music magazine
Research and Planning: Model Poses (Initial Ideas)
I want my pictures to be taken in a natural and 'spontaneous' looking way. I think this will suit my magazine as the genre isn't well suited to a 'classic photoshoot style' where the model is posing evidently. Here are a few examples of the look I will be going for when taking the pictures for my magazine.
The natural environment and pose make this picture look as if the model (Mike Skinner) doesn't know the photograph isn't going to be taken. I think this is really effective as it shows a lot more of the models personality and personal preferences than a white room and an un-natural pose. This picture also looks improvised as the model (Mac Miller) looks as if he's going about his daily business and the photograph has been taken as he's doing this
These models are posing, but the natural environment once again makes the photograph look natural

Research and Planning: Model Headshots
I could use this one because it's a professionally lit picture. This model would also be appropriate for my magazine he fits the 'look' of the people involved in my magazine genre.
This model won't be suitable because he doesn't fit the look of my genre.
I could use this model in my magazine because he suits the look of my genre.
This model wouldn't fit the look of my genre therefore I will not be using him in my magazine.
This model also wouldn't fit the genre look.
I could use this model as it would be good to get a good mix of male and female models to ensure my magazine appeals to both sexes.

Research and Planning: Prop List
I don't need any props for my magazine as I want the images to look natural and spontaneous.
Research and Planning: Costume List
The clothes that I want my models to wear:
- Jacket/Hoodie - If I use strong brands with some of my clothing this will create the look I'm going for. It will create a strong image of style and status.
- Shorts/Jeans/Chinos - Using shorts will create an image of a perfect world where the weather is warm, even if it's not.
- Sunglasses - The sunglasses will also add this idea of style and give the idea the weather is once again good.
- Shoes - The shoes will also be heavily branded as this will create an idea of style and luxury.
- Shirt/T-Shirt - The shirt will be coloured the same as my colour scheme, this will link the image with the magazine.
